Ecologically and geographically Lake Roosevelt, or the upper Columbia River, can be divided into three sections. From Boundary to Kettle Falls we will paddle through the only free flowing section of the upper river. Between Kettle Falls and the confluence of the Spokane River the river widens into Lake Roosevelt and we are left to imagine the river before the dams. From Fort Spokane to the Grand Coulee Dam, the lake meanders through deep rock canyons where the coniferous forests transform into the high desert or Sage Brush Steppe. Come and experience what the Columbia River has to offer.
