Expeditions we offer

Day Trips

Our day trips are the perfect escape from the classroom. On our day trips, educators will have ample time for lesson plans or lectures, while the guides prepare lunch along side the river. Educators will also have the opportunity to teach while we paddle, which will forge an unparalleled connection with the river. Each of the Day Trips can be shortened into half-day trips to fit your class schedule.

Columbia River Expeditions

(Three days / Two nights)
These trips are fully self supported (we carry all the food and equipment in the canoes) and give students a truly magical experience on the river. By spending extended periods of time on the river and exploring the beaches, students gain a much broader understanding of the Natural History of the Columbia River.

Ultimate Expeditions

Come aboard to experience everything the Upper Columbia River has to offer. These expeditions are 10-15 days and cover from 100-200 miles. Paddling the length's of the three sections, Upper, Middle, Lower will give gives students the opportunity to truly connect with the Columbia River Valley. Only on this extended expedition, as we travel down river can you truly document the changes in the ecosystem. Students will return to their classrooms with a newfound connection to the subject matter they learned about on the river.

A Dedication to Safety

Voyages of Rediscovery strives for excellence in safety, quality of guides, and meaningful trips. All of our guides are Washington State Certified and are up to date on all first- aid and safety certifications including, but not limited to: Wilderness First Responder (WFR) and American Canoe Association (ACA). By possessing a solid understanding of the natural world, each guide has a unique perspective making them educators in their own right. Storytelling, educationally focused, and outdoor living skills give them a solid foundation for proper trip facilitation.
