Voyages of Rediscovery is a river based environmental education program. We facilitate educational expeditions on the Columbia River. Using 30ft. Voyageur caones as a medium for education, Voyages of Rediscovery works to foster a new generation of Columbia River stewards.

Each canoe can hold 10 students, an educator or teacher, and a guide in the back. While we allow for ample lecture and lesson time in and out of the canoe, the majority of the learning comes from paddling side by side with one's classmates and the teamwork and leadership skills gained from such an expedition.

Every participant will receive a River Journal printed on water proof paper. The River Journal, which encompasses all the major areas of study, will give students the opportunity to do academic learning while on the river. Space is also provided for nature journaling. We encourage each student to record their observations of thoughts in their River Journal.

Through hands-on paddle time our goal is to mesh the romance of historical expeditionary travel with an environmental education curriculum suited to your educational needs.
